The TMS-Battery attracts a visitor from America

On June 1st, 2023, Matt Janssen from Vapor Locomotive Company (USA) visited us at the Zittau Power Plant Laboratory. The decisive factor was his interest in the worldwide unique TMS combimachine, which is the core of the TMS-Battery and is currently being experimentally investigated at the Zittau Power Plant Laboratory.

Together with two colleagues from SPILLING Technologies, our Hamburg-based industrial project partner in the joint TMS project, we presented Matt Janssen the THERESA test facility with the connected test setups TMS, SCTF, DAQUA and AUTOKLAV and reported on our associated research focal points. Matt Janssen was impressed by the many interesting research topics and an interesting and valuable exchange of experiences took place during the lively technical discussions.

Matt Janssen is an enthusiastic steam engine expert and professionally carries out maintenance work and repairs on industrially used steam compressors. But he has also repaired special parts for historic steam locomotives. Therefore, we organized a short visit to the locomotive service depot of the Zittau Narrow Gauge Steam Railroad after the laboratory tour. The impressions gathered there were very impressive for our guest from the USA as well as for the colleagues from SPILLING and inspired everyone.
