Create internal and external university networks at Cheese and Wine.
The Saxony5 joint project is committed to bringing people from different disciplines together with a format created specifically for networking. After almost exactly three years, the time had come again - a new edition of the "Cheese and Wine" networking format introduced in 2018 was on the agenda. We all know why there was such a long break. But very few of us know why it was held in Görlitz this time.
Because the people of Görlitz wanted it. After the first edition in summer 2018, we had already received feedback that such an informal opportunity to network within the HSZG could also take place in Görlitz. As the first Advent was already over, it had to be the Christmas edition.
If I had more time for Transfer, then...? We asked each other these and other questions that evening. Prof. Kollmorgen, the Vice-Rector for Research and project manager of Saxony5 at the HSZG, welcomed everyone. We were keen to promote mutual exchange and had therefore provided the opportunity for the researchers to introduce themselves to each other in the form of 3-minute pitches. Six such pitches were registered in advance and two spontaneous ones were added. In between, there was a brief overview of the last five years of Saxony5 in the form of interviews. This was followed by the central and possibly most enjoyable part of the event: people could simply talk to each other with a small treat in their hands.
We take stock and are pleased to note that not only were all faculties and institutes of the university represented on November 30, but we were also able to welcome colleagues from Zittau and Görlitz in almost equal numbers. We also had external guests from the ENO and the district administrator's office. We are determined to continue the series of events in the second Saxony5 project phase. We are certain that it is important for people working and researching in different areas at the HSZG to get to know each other. As the exchange between Zittau and Görlitz is particularly important to us, we would simply ask you to take advantage of this opportunity whenever possible. Please also promote it within your faculties - we believe it is good for the HSZG.
