In future, Thorsten Klette will be available for all aspects of pressure vessels and pipelines.
Recently, Mr. Klette, laboratory manager at the Zittau power plant laboratory and research associate in the research group of Prof. Kratzsch at IPM, successfully completed his further training to become a qualified person for pressure vessels and pipelines in accordance with BetrSichV.
The training focused on the applicable legal bases such as the Product Safety Act (ProdSG), the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV) and the Technical Rules for Industrial Safety (TRBS). Furthermore, the necessary inspection activities as well as the applicable inspection intervals and the inspection of special pressure equipment were covered. Mr. Klette is now able to carry out testing activities for pressure equipment in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health. This includes both the testing before commissioning of pressure equipment, as well as recurring tests, if these do not fall within the area of responsibility of a notified body (notified body, e.g. TÜV Süd).
These skills are urgently needed in the research project "Highly transient thermal energy storage system for a plant-friendly and energy-efficient flexibilization of thermal energy plants" (HOTHES) in the Zittau power plant laboratory at the THERESA test facility, which is funded by the European Union and the Free State of Saxony.
This provides the entire university with a qualified contact person for all aspects of pressure vessels and pipelines.
The institute management congratulates our laboratory manager in the Zittau power plant laboratory on passing the examination and wishes him every success in his future work.
