Cornelia Müller with a lecture on education and upbringing in a historical context
The interdisciplinary workshop „Umkämpfte Bildung – Zur Verwobenheit von Bildung, Geschlecht, Nation und Staatsbürgerschaft“ (Contested Education – On the Interconnectedness of Education, Gender, Nation and Citizenship) will be held on November 28, 2025, at Justus-Liebig-University Gießen highlighting key issues in political and civic education in a historical context. Cornelia Müller will provide valuable insights with her lecture „Kinderfreundebewegung und Kinderrepubliken“ (Children's Friends Movement and Children's Republics). The conference is part of the project „Verhandlungen von Geschlecht in Diskursen über staatsbürgerliche Erziehung und politische Bildung im Kaiserreich und der Weimarer Republik“ (Negotiations of Gender in Discourses on Civic Education and Political Education in the German Empire and the Weimar Republic) and brings together different perspectives on educational discourses and their social significance.
