Particle Image Velocimetry PIV)

PIV-system at the test rig “Ring Channel“PIV is an optical method of flow visualisation. The PIV system is used for measurement of

  • local velocities in channel flows
  • turbulences
  • flow profiles in the tank, induced by plunging jets

  • Temperature ranges: -20 to 120 °C and 0 to 350 °C

Highspeed Camera *

Capturing of fast dynamical processes and moving objects, such as dragged air bubbles in case of a plunging jet, free jet, particle transport in flows

  • 5,000 fps at full resolution, up to 195,000 fps at reduced resolution
  • Mobile usage (internal battery)

3D test station
